Happy New Year!

It's been over a month since I got to do some papercrafting.
I got new framelits, so I tried them out and made this card, echoing Ojubako (Japanese lacquer boxes used for New Year's foods). Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Stamp: Botanical Blooms
Paper: Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Hello Honey, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Early Espresso, Foil Sheets (gold)
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Accessories: Botanical Builder Framelits Dies

PP272: A Sketch Challenge

This weeks' Paper Players sketch challenge has a tag and a banner.
Here's my take on the sketch.

It's a round shaker tag, and it looks like a Christmas ornament.
Glitter doesn't show very well in the pictures, but I think the glimmer paper is perfect for the snowy scene.
Stamp: Festival of Trees
Paper: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy, Glimmer Paper (Dazzling Diamonds), Window Sheet
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Die-namics Tag Builder Blueprints 4, Die-namics Let It Snow Flake, Shaker Frames, Mini Glue Dots, Dimentionals, Sequins

PPA276: A Sketch Challenge

I wanted to make a simple holiday card this weekend using items I haven't used before.
I fell in love with this stocking image of a letterpress plate, and bought one on ebay some years ago, but I have never used it. It's a retired product, and I was not even sure how to use it, so I had to google it! I also bought the holiday washi tape a few months ago, but I haven't used it. Luckily, the pattern of the washi tape matched that of the stockings.
My card is roughly based on the Pals Paper Arts' sketch challenge.
Paper: Watercolor Paper
Ink: Metallic Encore Pad (champagne), Uni-ball Signo Jel Pen (gold)
Accessories: Letterpress Plate Joyful Season, Winter Wonderland Designer Washi Tape

RIC#96

The Runway Inspired Challenge #96 features a Banana Republic dress.

I was a little concerned at first that these colors may make the card look dark, but it turned out they make a great color combination.
Here's my card:

I used the color of the leather bracelet for the sentiment.
I added some sparkles to the card to finish it up.
Stamp: Painted Petals
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Whisper White
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede
Accessories: Sequins (clear)

PPA275: A Color Challenge

This week's Pals Paper Arts challenge includes these three colors.

Here's my card - air balloons floating against an autumn sunset.
I clear-embossed the clouds first, and then sponged over in Tangelo Twist.
The leaves are stamped in Hello Honey on cardstock of the same color, so they look darker.
I added a few sequins and brushed Wink of Stella over the leaves to give the card some sparkles.
Stamp: Up, Up & Away, A Little Something
Paper: Whisper White, Hello Honey
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, VersaMark
Accessories: Die-namics Stitched Snow Drifts, Embossing Powder (clear), Stamping Sponges, Sequins, Wink of Stella (clear), Mini Glue Dots, Dimentionals

Aren't they romantic?

PP270: A Color Challenge

It's Sunday, and time for enjoying a new challenge of the Paper Players!

I made a masculine gift card holder using Black + White + Silver + Green.
I used vellum with silver stripes, and layered it over the Whisper White holder base.

At first, I was going to use blue sequins, but these emerald green sequins made the holder look brighter and better.

Here's inside. I embossed the sentiment in silver.
Stamp: Gift Tag Greetings
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Foil Sheet (silver)
Ink: VersaMark
Accessories: Expressions Thinlits Dies, Die-namics Gift Card Grooves, Embossing Powder (silver), Sequins (emerald green, black), Cording Trim (silver), Mini Glue Dots

RIC#95

The Runway Inspired Challenge #95 features a Marchesa Notte dress.
What a pretty dress! Navy blue and pink is one of my favorite color combinations.
Here's my card:
I'm glad the flowers turned out to look like a wood print.
Since Notte by Marchesa is popular among younger people, I decided to use white for the card base, and made the card look bright and light. I also used a fun font for the sentiment.

Stamp: Something Lacy, A Dozen Thoughts
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: VersaMark, SU Markers (Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Midnight Muse)
Accessories: Embossing Powder (Black), Squares Collection Framelits Dies, Dimentionals

PPA274: A Color Challenge

This week's Pals Paper Arts' color challenge showcases these three pretty fall colors.

I thought Calypso Coral would be perfect for a flower, and it would look striking against Chocolate Chip. So I made the flower and the base first. Then the sentiment had to be in Crushed Curry. ;-P
The scallop trim is in Very Vanilla (although it looks like Whisper White in the pictures), and it softens the brown.
I love this flower die, and I've made so many flowers before in different colors.
Stamp:Endless Thanks
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla
Ink: VersaMark
Accessories: Blossom Party Dies, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Scallop Trip Corner Punch, Embossing Powder (Crushed Curry), Designer Buttons (Neutrals), Die-namics Upsy-Daisy, Mini Glue Dots

PP269: A Theme Challenge

This week's Paper Players' theme challenge features fall thank you cards.
Here's my card:
I made an easel card for a change. I love the Sweater Weather DSP although it's retired...
I made a similar card last year, but I was not very pleased with it, so I tried again using different colors of card stock and accessories.
Stamp: French Foliage, Lots of Thanks
Paper: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Hello Honey, DSP Sweater Weather
Ink: VersaMark
Accessories: Embossing Powder (Early Espresso), Ticket Corner Punch, Cording Trim (gold), Envelope Liners, Mini Glue Dots, Dimentionals

Halloween Mini-cards

I made fun Halloween mini-cards!

This card has a peek-a-boo window, and a cute spider is waiting behind the window.

This is a shaker card. I love the floating felt ghost.

And the pumpkin has a paper spring on the back of the pumpkin, so it jumps out.
Stamp: Googly Ghouls, Wicked Cool, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant, DSP Witches' Brew
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Peekaboo Frames Bigz L Die, Die-namics Spooky Scene, Die-namics Halloween Charms, Sequins (Halloween Mix, Black), Felt (white), Mini Glue Dots, Dimentionals

PP268: A Sketch Challenge

I can't believe I missed the entry deadline! This post was in my draft for a few days. I'll post this anyway...

*******************************************************************************
This week's Paper Players' challenge is a sketch challenge from LeAnn. There are fun and nice elements in the card.
Here's my card:

I've wanted to use embossed vellum for a baby card, so this was a perfect opportunity. I liked the combination of the pattern (elegant dots) and the softness the vellum gives off.

Stamp: Something for Baby, Itty Bitty Banners
Paper: Soft Sky, Whisper White, So Saffron, Vellum
Ink: Pistachio Pudding, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Embossing Folder (Elegant Dots), Baby's First Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Boho Blossoms Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Large Pearl Basic Jewels, Mini Glue Dots, Dimentionals

RIC#94

The Runway Inspired Challenge #94 features a Houghton Bride, and I made this card for it.
I wanted to capture the dress' folds in the card, so I staggered the depth of the strips.

The shoes look pale pink in the picture, so I lightly sponged around the sentiment in Pink Pirouette.
I also daubed the base card with Wink of Stella, but it doesn't show in the picture unfortunately.

Stamp: Bloomin' Marvelous
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Pink Pirouette, VersaMark
Accessories: Embossing Powder (Black), Lovely Lace Embossing Folder, 1" Square Punch, Sequins (clear), Wink of Stella Blush, (clear), Fine-Tip Glue Pen, Dimentionals

Thanks so much for visiting me!

PPA272 & PP267

I made a birthday card for a friend of mine. She loves pink, and things with a feminine style.
I was inspired by the Pals Paper Arts' sketch challenge, and the Paper Players' clean-and-simple challenge (leaves).
I tried an embossing resist technique for the first time, and I liked it very much.
Stamp: Lighthearted Leaves, Endless Birthday Wishes
Paper: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush
Ink: VersaMark, Tangelo Twist, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush
Accessories: Embossing Powder (Clear, White), Stamping Sponges, Cording Trim (gold), Metallics Sequin (gold), Dimentionals
