PP292: A Sketch Challenge from Claire

I saw a beautiful color combination on Pinterest, and I wanted to use the purple and green combination in my card. The layout of the card was inspired by the Paper Players Sketch Challenge.

This is the banner of the challenge.

I wanted to give the card a light and airy feeling, so I used the panel frames instead of solid panels. I added the curvy wreath embellishments to echo the background pattern.

Stamp: Lotus Blossom
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum, Mossy Meadow, Certainly Celery
Ink: Certainly Celery
Accessories: Elegant Lines EF, Wreaths Dies (RC)

Thanks for checking it out!

Matchbox Gift Box

Making and decorating boxes is probably my favorite part of papercrafting, and I realized I hadn't done it for quite some time.
I took out one of my favorite dies and I made a springy gift box today. There's nothing new about it, but I just enjoyed making it!

Stamp: Matchbox Messages, Color Splash (Recollections)
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Gumdrop (Core'dinations)
Ink: VersaMark
Accessories: Bigz XL Matchbox Dies, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Embossing Powder (White), Pearl Basic Jewels, Mini Glue Dots

PPA297: A Color Challenge from Jackie Diediker

I thought about making a flower card or a baby card using these soft colors, and I decided to make a baby one.

I used vellum for the whole front of the card for a change.
Because the vellum is translucent, I left the inside blank. You can see the image and sentiment clearer against the clean, solid background.

I attached a panel to the back of the card for writing messages.

Stamp: Something for Baby, Something to Say
Paper: Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Vellum
Ink: Craft Ink (Whisper White), Pool Party
Accessories: Baby's First Framelits Dies, Hip Clips Dies (mft), Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks, Baker's Twine (Pool Party), Sequins (MultiCraft), Stamping Sponges, Mini Glue Dots, Dimentionals

Thanks for stopping by!

PPA296: A Sketch Challenge from Susan Itell

I've been in green/blue mode these days,
and that reflects in the cards I make.
Here's the card I made today.

Susan's sketch banner is this:

I stamped the sentiment on vellum, and lightly sponged the front panel in opaque white ink to soften the background. I think the jute ribbon fits better on the sponged panel.

Stamp: Me = Greatful, Four Feathers
Paper: Sahara Sand, Mint Macaron, Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon, Vellum
Ink: Craft Ink (Whisper White), StazOn Ink (Cotton White)
Accessories: Feathers Framelits Dies, Stitched Circles STAX (mft), White 1-1/4" Jute Ribbon, Sequins, Stamping Sponges, Dimentionals

Thank you for visiting me today!

I made a Mother's Day card today.

I used the colors from this week's Paper Players Challenge.
Joanne chose these lovely colors full of impact, and I love the combination!

I hope the little heart makes Mom smile.

PPA295: A Color Challenge

Michelle Quinno chose these colors for this week's challenge.

Here's my card.

When I saw those colors, I wanted to make something to do with ocean.
And this was a great opportunity to use the Going Global stamp set. I bought it sometime ago, but I haven't used it yet.

I heat embossed the sentiment.

Stamp: Going Global
Paper: Whisper White, Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake
Ink: Bermuda Bay, VersaMark
Accessories: Blueprints 11 (mft), Stitched Circle STAX (mft), Embossing Powder (White), Dimentionals

PP289: A Theme Challenge from Laurie

The theme of this week's Paper Players challenge is Western.

Here's my card.

This was my first time to make a Western-themed card.
I incorporated a few cowboy factors in the card - a red bandanna, a leather belt, and a bolo tie. It was fun making the card!

I used Core'dinations cardstock and sanding block to create the belt, and used Chrystal Effects to make a punched-out circle look like turquoise.

Stamp: Horse Frontier
Paper:Real Red, Chocolate Chip (Core'dinations), Glimmer Paper (Silver), Tempting Turquoise, Going Places DSP Pack
Ink:Early Espresso
Accessories: Beautifully Baroque EF, Sanding System, Ovals Collection Framelits, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, 1/4" Circle Punch, Cording Trim (Silver), Crystal Effects, Dimentionals

 Thanks for visiting me today!

PPA294: A Sketch Challenge

A friend of mine's birthday is coming up.
She loves dogs, so I made a "doggy" birthday card for her.

My card design is based on a PPA sketch challenge #294.
This is Dawn's sketch.

Well, I realized again today that making cards is one thing, and taking pictures is another. At first I used white background as usual (above pic), but white against white made it difficult to see the outline of the card...
So here's the second take.

I added a strip of glimmer paper to the rims of the front panel,
and raised the panel and the paw-print.

Paper: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Soft Suede, Glimmer Paper (Dazzling Diamonds)
Accessories: Circles Collection Framelits Dies, Birthday Circle Dies (sss), Pet Accents Dies (mft), Dimentionals
