Another ombre flower background

I made a card with an ombre flower background last week, but it was a little bulky to mail it to my friend. So I made a simple and thin version today.

I like this better. 😊

Here's a close-up:

Note: This card was picked as a CAS favorite of Week ending 2/5/2017 (Splitcoaststampers). Thank you so much for choosing my card, Kia! 😊

Stamp: Vintage Roses (Altenew), Magnolias for Her (Altenew)
Paper: Neenah cardstock (110 lb solar white), Translucent Vellum (My Favorite Things)
Ink: Distress Ink (Ranger - Picked Rapsberry, Bundled Sage, Iced Spruce), VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Vintage Roses Dies (Altenew), Embossing Powder (Ranger - Liquid Platinum, White), Gold Sequins (Lucy's Cards)

CAS(E) this Sketch #206 - Part 2

I enjoyed yesterday's project so much that I played with the same sketch (CAS(E) this Sketch #206) using Zig clean color real brush markers this time.

I used exactly the same layout, the stamp and the sentiment, and yet the card tuned out to look so different.

I heat-embossed the image in clear instead of gold today, and colored the shoe using the brush markers and a watercolor brush. I thought about adding a stitched frame or a few sequins to the front panel, but I decided not to. I left it clean and simple.

Stamp: Fabulous You (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: Bristol Smooth White (100 lb)

Ink: VersaMark (Tsukineko), Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers (Kuretake - 061, 025, 021, 070, 050, 045, 042, 036, 032, 091)
Accessories: Clear Ultra Fine Embossing Powder (Hero Arts), Artist Brushes (Ranger)

CAS(E) this Sketch #206

I have some stamps I love even though they're discontinued. This pin-heel stamp is one of them. I love shoes for one thing 😉, and I love the detailed design.

I looked for a sentiment stamp which would match the elegant image, but I couldn't find any good ones in my stash, so I made my own and printed it on the cardstock.

My card design is based on the CAS(E) this Sketch #206.

Stamp: Fabulous You (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: Bristol Smooth White (100 lb)

Ink: VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Metalic Gold Rich Pale Embossing Powder (Wow), Strawberry Burst Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh), Multi Medium Matte Glue (Ranger)

Taking an Altenew class - Beyond Basic Backgrounds

I've taken a new Altenew class (Beyond Basic Backgrounds) this week, and made this card.

It's always fun to take classes and learn new skills and ideas! I learned how to make this ombre look flower background using the coordinating dies in the class, and I really liked it.

Stamp: Vintage Roses (Altenew), Magnolias for Her (Altenew)
Paper: Neenah cardstock (110 lb solar white), Translucent Vellum (My Favorite Things)
Ink: Distress Ink (Ranger - Abandoned Coral, Bundled Sage, Iced Spruce), VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Vintage Roses Dies (Altenew), Embossing Powder (Ranger - Liquid Platinum, White), Double-sided Foam Tape (3M)

CAS(E) this Sketch #205

I was not planning to use this color pallet again because I used these colors for last week's CTS challenge. Maybe I'm in the mood for this look. Doesn't this happen to you sometimes?

The sketch I used is CAS(E) this Sketch #205:

I was frustrated with this card and I almost threw it away, but I managed to find a solution I liked. Whew! 😅

I coated the die-cut (hello) and thin strips of black cardstock with Glossy Accents.

Stamp: Etched Flower (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Bristol Smooth White (100 lb), Basic Black (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Distress Ink (Ranger - Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves), VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Painted Hello Die (Simon Says Stamp), Clear Embossing Powder (Hero Arts), Glossy Accents (Ranger), Double-sided Foam Tape (3M)

Farewell card

I made a farewell card for a coworker this weekend. I usually use a "Best Wishes" stamp for a farewell card. But the styles/fonts of the stamps I have didn't quite match the image, so I decided to use a different sentiment - Stay Awesome. This sentiment is perfect for her, and I love it!

 A close-up:

I heat-embossed the sentiment on pieces of black cardstock, and adhered them to the card front with foam squares.

Stamp: Wildflower (Concord & 9th), Essential Sentiments (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Neenah cardstock (110 lb solar white), Basic Black (Stumpin' Up!)
Ink: Flirty Flamingo (Stampin' Up!), VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: White Embossing Powder (Hero Arts), Thin 3D Foam Squares (3L)

Thanks for checking in!

CAS(E) this Sketch #204

It's been a loooong time since I last made an entry in a challenge or even made a post.
During this hibernation😉 I think I've grown to have more appreciation to soft images like the card I made today.

My card design was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #204.

This was a perfect opportunity to try out my new Zig Brush Pens, and I loved the effect with water!

Stamp: Brush Art Floral (Altenew), That Is All (WPlus9)
Paper: Watercolor paper (140 lb - Strathmore)
Ink: Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pen (021, 025, 026, 083), Memento (Tuxedo Black)
Accessories: Sequins (Clear Mix - Pretty Pink Posh)

Thanks so much for visiting me today!
