The Paper Players #337 - farewell card

One of my coworkers is leaving the company next week, so I made a farewell card for her. I'm going to miss her...

My design was inspired by the Paper Players' Sketch Challenge (#337).

I masked the front panel and colored the circle with two shades of green (distress ink).

Gold and white embossing:

Paper:
Bristol Smooth White (100 lb), Whisper White, Vellum (Stampin' Up!)

CAS(E) this Sketch #214 - fish card

I had a hard time knowing how to use this fish stamp set because the images and sentiment font are not exactly my usual style, but I think I've found a way I like.

This week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge (#214) was the inspiration for my card.

I stamped the sentiment and heat-embossed it in clear. I also masked the sentiment and fish images when I stamped the background.

Stamp: BG Cheese Cloth (My Favorite Things), Seaside Shore (Stampin' Up!)
Paper:
Whisper White, Soft Sky, Midnight Muse (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Dapper Denim, Flurty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach

CAS(E) this Sketch #213 - Hello

I got a newly released denim background stamp this week, and I love it!! I was so excited about the stamp image that my husband teased me, saying "Why don't you use actual denim?" ;-P

The flower looks a little distressed because I sprinkled water on it and crumpled it to make the petals. I think the distress look matches the denim background.

The card design is based on this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #213.

I heat-embossed the sentiment in silver.

Stamp: BG Denim (My Favorite Things), Designer Typeset (Stampin' Up!)
Paper:
Whisper White, Basic Black, Rose Red, Silver Foil Sheet (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Dapper Denim (Stampin' Up!), VersaMark (Tsukineko)

March 17 is St. Patrick's Day this year, and I made this card for my friend in Ireland.

I'm entering the card in the Paper Player's Color Challenge #335.

I punched out a lot of hearts, and made shamrocks, stamped the sentiment in Versafine ink and heat-embossed in clear.

Paper: Whisper White (Stampin' Up!), Green Glitter Paper (Recollections)

Ink: Versafine Onyx Black (Tsukineko)

Altenew March 2017 Inspiration Challenge

I saw a very springy bright color combination I liked in Altenew March 2017 Inspiration Challenge, so I thought I should make a card using the color scheme.

Here's the inspirational picture:

Unfortunately, the color of the base card looks gray in the picture, but it's actually more beige-ish gray.

I heat-embossed the images on watercolor paper in clear, die-cut them and colored them with a watercolor brush.
The sentiment was stamped with Versafine ink and heat-embossed in clear.

I'm pretty happy with how the card turned out! :-)

Stamp: Peony Bouquet, Magnolias For Her (Altenew)
Paper:
Watercolor paper (140 lb - Strathmore), Sahara Sand (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Warm Sunshine, Orange Cream, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Ocean Waves (Altenew),
Versafine Onyx Black, VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Poeny Bouquet Dies (Altenew), Stitched Rectangles (Simon Says Stamp), Ultra Fine Embossing Powder (Hero Arts - Clear)

Thanks for visiting!

CAS(E) this Sketch #212 - Congratulatons

One of my nieces in Tokyo passed her entrance exam this month and she is going to a high school in April. (The academic year starts in April in Japan.)
Cherry blossoms are beautiful in early April so I thought this card would be perfect for this occasion. Congratulations, my little Mai-chan!

My card design was based on this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #212

I die-cut a bunch of cherry blossoms, colored them with Prismacolor pencils, and finished with Wink of Stella.

Stamp: Essential Sentiments (My Favorite Things)
Paper:
Neenah Solar White (110 lb), Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso (Stampin' Up!), Translucent Vellum (My Favorite Things)
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Sweet Sugarplum (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories: Cherry Blossoms Dies (Spellbinders), Prismacolor Pencils, Wink of Stella (Kuretake)

CAS(E) this Sketch #211 - Love & Sympathy

I've had this silhouette stamp for almost 5 years, and never used it because I didn't know how I could use it without giving too dark an impression. So I tried using a few colors instead of one solid color and softened it a little. I think it worked all right.

I made the image blurry, and this is how I did it: I first wet watercolor paper, inked the stamp with 3 colors of distress ink, and stamped the image. The ink reacted with the water, so the image blurred.

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine ink, and heat-embossed with clear embossing powder.

I used black cardstock to frame the front panel at first, but it looked very stark. So I changed my mind - I colored watercolor paper with one of the distress inks I used for the image, and used it as a frame.

My design is base on this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #211.

Stamp: Just Believe, Love & Sympathy (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: Watercolor paper (140 lb - Strathmore), Stardream Quartz (Paper Source)

Ink: Distress Ink (Ranger - Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio), Versafine (Tsukineko - Onyx Black)
Accessories: Ultra Fine Embossing Powder (Hero Arts - Clear)

Thanks for Looking!

Thinking of you, my friend!

A good friend of mine is having a hard time these days, and I wanted to make an encouraging card for her. While thinking about the design and colors for the card, I saw a beautiful card made by Donna Mikasa. I was totally inspired by her color scheme. The colors used in her card were perfect for my friend because her favorite color is light salmon.
So here's my card:

I heat-embossed the dahlias in clear, and loosely colored them with distress ink.

Cheer up, my friend!

Stamp: Regarding Dahlias, Sheltering Tree (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: Watercolor paper (140 lb - Strathmore)

Ink: Distress Ink (Ranger - Picked Rapsberry, Spiced Marmalade), Memento (Tuxedo Black), VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Ultra Fine Embossing Powder (Hero Arts - Clear), Sequin (Lucy's Cards - Gilded Rose)

Thanks so much for visiting me today!
