STAMPlorations CAS December Challenge - merry christmas

This month's STAMPlorations CAS Challenge is:

And here's what I made using Green:

This is actually a negative side of the stencil, Fairy Tale Forest.  I was originally using the positive side, but I couldn't waste so much leftover ink on the negative side. So I made this using the leftover ink. 😉

[How I made the card]
1. Stenciled using white pigment ink liberally. (This positive side will be used for another card.)
2. After stenciling, flipped it over, placed it on a piece of green cardstock and ran it through Big Shot.
3. Layered a dark red trim under the green panel.
4. Gold heat-embossed the sentiment on a wide strip of vellum, glued the linen thread at the edges, and wrapped it around the front panel.
5. Added a few red Nuvo drops.
6. Adhered the front panel to the card base.

The challenge is open until December 31.

Thanks so much for dropping by!
Happy Holidays!

CAS Watercolour December Challenge - thanks

This month's CAS Watercolour Challenge is hosted by the very talented Designer, Bonnie. Her challenge is "Thank You".  Isn't it the perfect theme for the end of the year?

While making this card, I was thinking about all the love, kindness, support and encouragement I received from my friends and family this year. I'm especially thankful for getting to know the many card-makers/stampers in the online community and developing friendships with them. I sometimes can't believe I've never met these friends in person.

So, this is a thank-you card for YOU.

One of the Distress Inks I used for the background to create a cold wintry feeling was Weathered Wood (blue/green gray), and I liked how it turned out.

[How I made the card]
1. Made a stencil monoprint background using Distress Inks and die cut the piece with a stitched frame die.
2. Stamped the rose and the leaves using Misti.
    * There are 6 layers for the rose. It works better for me to use 3 shades of pink inks and double stamp to make a one-notch darker shade than to use 6 different shades of pink/purple.
3.  Die cut the sentiment and sponged it with Weathered Wood.
4.  Glued the rose, the leaves, and the sentiment to the front panel and adhered the panel to the card base.

The challenge is open until December 15, so we have a few more days.

Thanks for visiting me!

CAS Christmas Card December Challenge - merry

This month's CAS Christmas Card Challenge is hosted by the talented Trina, and she chose Stars as a theme.

Here's my card:

I die-cut a star (window) from the front panel, pasted a piece of leftover Alcohol Ink background on the card base, and popped up the front panel with foam tape. The sentiment was die cut 3 times. I layered them together and glued both ends to the front panel.

Just to remind you that the challenge is open until December 15th.

Thanks for visiting me today!

CAS Mix Up December Challenge - happy birthday

Starting from this month, I'm honored to be on the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge Design Team, and this is my first post as a CAS Mix Up Designer.
I love doing experiments - especially with art supplies - and trying new products and techniques, so I look forward to doing a lot of these as a Designer. I hope my CAS Mix Up cards will help inspire you.

Our very talented Designer, Loll, is hosting this month's challenge and she chose Resist Emboss as the challenge.  We have a wonderful Guest Designer, Bozena (Art Card Box).
Various types of Emboss Resist video links are provided on the challenge site. It's really worth checking them out.

Here's my card:

Using Emboss Resist, Heat-Embossing, Watercoloring, Die-cutting, and Stamping

[How I made the card]
1. White heat-embossed the text (happy birthday) background stamp on watercolor paper.
2. Sprinkled Brushos on the heat-embossed watercolor paper and spritzed it with water. The brushos reacts with water and colors the paper except for the heat-embossed area.
3. Die-cut balloons from the Emboss Resist watercolor paper.
4. Made an impression with a frame die on the card base.
5. Heat-embossed the sentiment in dark brown.
6. Slightly curved the die-cut balloons and popped them up with foam squares.
7. Drew the balloon strings with Gold Stickles.

Just to remind you that the challenge for this month closes earlier than usual, on December 15.
I hope you are inspired by the samples Bozena and our Design Team made and play along with us!
Happy holidays, everyone! Thank you so much for all your support and sweet comments this year!

STAMPlorations CAS November Challenge - hello

This month's STAMPlorations CAS Challenge is:

Here's what I made:

I stamped the feathers in muted rainbow colors with the help of the wreath builder stencil. I die-cut a square in the center, stamped the sentiment, and popped it up with square black craft foam. I placed the square a little offset so that the black card base will show.

I liked the "modern rustic" feel of the card.

You have until November 30 to link up here.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Loll's 12 Tags of Christmas 2018 - merry christmas

The gallery of Loll's Twelve Tags of Christmas is growing and it's so much fun to look at all the gorgeous samples and entries!

This is the second tag I've made for the event.

1. The background is an alcohol inked acetate sheet. It's a leftover piece from this project. I pasted the sheet onto the white cardstock and die-cut it with a tag die.
2. The trees were stenciled with pearl embossing paste. I die-cut a tree from a piece of acetate sheet and used the negative as a stencil. I sprinkled crystal powder over the embossing paste before the paste dried to add more shine.
3. The hill was die cut and the sentiment was heat-embossed in silver pearl on the die-cut vellum.
4. I stamped and die-cut my favorite bear. I gave him an alcohol inked heart. I added Glossy Accent to his nose to give it a shine. Finally I popped him up with foam squares at an angle.

You have until November 23 to link up your tag here.

Thanks for visiting me today!
