CAS Watercolour Card April Challenge - happy day to you

The CAS Watercolour April Challenge is "Bird", hosted by Bonnie.

I was born and brought up in a concrete jungle, and I'm not very familiar with nature.... I knew it would be a disaster if I painted a bird for the challenge.
So here's how I escaped from actually painting a bird and enjoyed playing along with the challenge. 😉

I sprinkled Brusho (Cobalt Blue) on watercolor paper, spritzed water over it, and die-cut the bird from it. The front panel looked a little empty even after adding the heat-embossed sentiment and the stitched frame, so I added some stenciling with Distress Oxide Ink. Lastly I popped up the bird with foam tape.

I love the Brusho' vibrant color and uneven texture.

Thanks for stopping by!

  13. Amazing glory, your choice of Brusho is the ideal match for this beautiful dove. It's a tricky powder but you dosed the pigment perfectly. The gold sentiment is a beautiful compliment to the whole design. Simply a BEAUTY, xx
