I've played along with this week's Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge. Here's my 5" x 5" card.
And here's the sketch that inspired me.
I've made so many butterfly cards with soft colors, so this time I wanted to make something more bold. The combination of Basic Black and Melon Mambo is perfect for this purpose, but sometimes it's too striking, so I added Sahara Sand to tone it down a little.
Even with the Woodgrain embossing on the band, the left side of the card somehow looked empty, so I added black pearls to balance it out. The curvy typeset of the sentiment matches the butterfly wing lines.
I coated the butterfly with clear glitter to give it a shine.
I wanted to make something fun this weekend, so I've made this cute pop-up card.

Hello! I'm Hideko Lagan. (My first name is pronounced as "Hee-deh-ko".)
I'm originally from Tokyo, Japan, and my husband and I moved to the States in 2008.
I started papercrafting in June, 2012, and I enjoy it on weekends. I used to love origami when I was a child, so the paper-crafting seeds were already in me at that time!
