CAS Christmas February 2022 Reminder - Christmas Greetings

Hi everyone,

It's time for the mid-month reminder at CAS Christmas. The challenge for this month is:

Here's my card with an Alcohol Ink background from my stash:

[How I made the card]

1. Die-cut the trees and the circle panel.

2. Die-cut a circle from the Alcohol Ink background. The background was made with an acetate sheet and Alcohol Inks.

3. Die-cut a circle from textured gold cardstock and glued it to the back of the white circle panel so that gold would peek through the die-cut holes.

4. Adhered the AI circle to the white circle panel, and then glued the trees onto the AI panel.

5. Gold heat-embossed the sentiment. I was happy that the shade of the gold embossing powder matched the gold cardstock layered under the circle panel.

6. Popped up the entire circle panel on the card base with foam tape.

I thought the bubble pattern on the AI background looked like falling snow in the forest.

You have until February 24th to link up your card here. I hope you join our fun challenge!

CAS Mix Up Challenge February 2022 - Thank You

Hi everyone,

The sample cards of the CAS Mix Up Challenge Designers and Guest Designer inspired me to try this interesting technique this month.

First, I cut out several pages from a fashion magazine.

Then I chose this page for today's card.

And here's my card using patterns from the magazine page:

[How I made the card]

1. Gold heat-embossed the flower and the leaves on the magazine page and die-cut them.

2. Die-cut the oval panel.

3. Glimmer foiled the sentiment on the black cardstock and die-cut the sentiment.

4. Glued the flower, the leaves, and the sentiment onto the oval panel, and added gold sequins.

5. Adhered the entire panel to the card base.

I used the dress of the girl on the left in the magazine photo for the flower and the grass for the leaves. The card may not have turned out to look like Cloisonne but I really enjoyed making the card. 😊 And now I see the old paper magazines I have as interesting and unique design paper! I can't wait to use the rest of the pages I cut out for making other cards.

Thank you for visiting me today!

CAS Christmas February 2022 Challenge - All is Calm All is Bright

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the CAS Christmas February Challenge! This month's challenge is hosted by our talented Designer, Christine (It's a Card Day's Night). She chose Winter Scene as the theme. Our wonderful Guest Designer is Izzy (Izzy Scrap). Welcome, Izzy!

I had a perfect die and an embossing folder to create a winter scene. 😊

[How I made the card]

1. 3D embossed a piece of white card stock.

2.  Lightly sponged the embossed panel with distress inks, and spritzed the shimmer spray over the panel.

3.  Die-cut the fir tree and the frame twice from a piece of white card stock, and die-cut another fir tree panel to stack up for dimension.

4.  Foiled the sentiment on the die-cut front panel.

5.  Glued the front panel to the sponged panel, and adhered the entire front panel to the card base.

I don't think I'll ever see this kind of peaceful and snowy "winter scene" here in Los Angeles, but it was fun to dream about the scene while making the card. 😊

You'll find more inspirations at the challenge site. Please check it out and join the fun!
