Susan is hosting the March challenge, Acetate, and provided us a lot of great tutorial video links in the challenge blog.
Here's my card:
I used Acetate + Stamping + Die-cutting.
First, I made this rainbow color acetate sheet using Alcohol Inks.
I just dropped the inks horizontally on a piece of acetate sheet and trimmed it.
Then I die-cut the sentiment 3 times from the white panel, stamped "so much", and layered the panel over the AI acetate sheet.
I loved the vibrant colors of AI, but then my curiosity was telling me that I should try it with lighter and softer AI colors and see how they look. So I did. 😉
I didn't use any stamp for this card, so I won't enter it into the challenge, but I really liked the results - actually I like this card better than my first card.
I dropped the AIs on a piece of acetate sheet at random.
I layered the 3 die-cut sentiments (the positive parts) from the first card and used them for this card. I'm glad I didn't have to waste them.
Thanks for visiting me today!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous rainbow background Hideko! Love how the colours peek through the die-cut sentiments. And great job using up those die-cut thanks to create a twofer!! Two beautiful cards. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
ReplyDeleteHideko, I love them both... but like you, I think I favor the second edition! LOve this idea and I'm so hoping to try this technique!

Two fabulous cards using acetate! Love the two different colour treatments. The first card is great with the die cut white panel, letting the rainbow of colours show through. And the second is so pretty with the softer colours and the framing. Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Mix Up.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards with the acetate & alcohol inks. I love them both! I will confess that I was drawn to the more bold colors of #1, but #2 is equally stunning in the different shades of the inks. It is a lovely background with the die frame and the dimensional sentiment popped over it! TFS
ReplyDeleteThese cards are both stunning and fun! Love the bright colors peeking through the thanks cut outs and also the second panel nicely framed! It always makes me happy, too when I can reuse pieces!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love them both, Hideko! You are the AI Queen! The softer colors are pretty--you've inspired me to try this!
ReplyDeletebeautiful cards...love the look.
