PP260: A Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

Before the weekend is over, I enjoyed papercrafting. This is my card for this week's Paper Players challenge.

The challenge is fun Tic-Tac-Toe, and I chose Sequins, Embossing, and Ribbon.
I made the card fall-ish by using Cajun Craze, Naturals White, Jute Ribbon, and Nature Color Mix of sequins.
It's a little difficult to see in the picture, but the sentiment is heat-embossed in Early Espresso.

Stamp: Endless Thanks
Paper: Cajun Craze, Naturals White
Ink: VersaMark
Accessories: White 1-1/4" Jute Ribbon, Die-namics Looped Boarder, Embossing Powder (Early Espresso), Sequins (Fall Mix & Clear Mix), Glue Dots, Fast Fuse Adhesive, Dimentionals

Pop-up Birthday Card

I made a little girly & glittery pop-up card today.
It looks like a wedding card, but it's actually a "Frozen" color scheme birthday card.

The pop-up die makes the work so easy!
I cut out the stamp images (cake & gift boxes), and pasted them onto the platform.

(the front of the card)

Stamp: Make a Cake, Wishing You, You're a Gem
Paper: Whisper White Thick Cardstock, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Core'dinations Canvas Texture (purple), Glitter Paper (silver)

PPA265: A Sketch Challenge

I got a new little bow die last week, and made lots of bows in various colors just for fun. They serve as my color chart now. :-)
So when I saw this week's Pals Paper Arts challenge, I couldn't help using one of my favorite color combinations - Soft Sky, Pool Party, and Island Indigo.
And here's my card:

And this is PPA's inspiring sketch.

At first I liked silver glimmer paper for the houses, but after changing background colors a few times, I settled on the Whisper White houses against the Tip Top Taupe background.

Paper: Whisper White, Soft Sky, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Tip Top Taupe
Accessories: Die-namices Vertical Stitched Strips, Die-namics Stitched Square STAX, Sleigh Ride Edgelits, Die-namics Let it Snowflakes, Frosted Sequins, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

PP259: A Sketch Challenge

When I saw this new challenge of the Paper Players, I immediately thought about using the Jute ribbon for the banner.

And then, looking at my stamp shelves, I picked up a new stamp set, Lighthearted Leaves. I thought these stamps would go well with the Jute ribbon.
I colored the leaves with markers, and cut them out. (I should get a coordinating die set!)
Now I looked for a sentiment stamp which would match the banner and the leaves. After trying out a few stamps, I liked the "Believe" stamp best which comes with the leaf stamps. It's perfect for this card in terms of the size and the font. I chose the Pewter embossing powder because it looked most similar to the color of Sahara Sand cardstock and Jute ribbon on black.
Finally, I added a few black pearls to balance the weight of the banner.

Stamp: Lighthearted Leaves
Paper: Sahara Sand, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Memento (tuxedo black), VersaMark, SU Markers (Bermuda Bay, Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Sahara Sand)
Accessories:White 1-1/4 Jute Ribbon, Embossing Powder (pewter), Black Pearl Embellishment, Dimentionals

Farmers Market Treat Basket

I made a nature-themed treat basket, using part of a fry box die. (I learned how to make this basket from Valerie's blog.) The burlap background stamp makes the basket look like a woven basket.

Note: I would like to thank Pat for choosing this card as one of the Splitcoast Stampers favorites of the week ending August 23, 2015.

Stamp: A Little Something, Burlap BG (mft)
Paper: Whisper White Thick Cardstock, Certainly Celery, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Sahara Sand, Garden Green
Accessories: Fry Box Bigz L, Die-namics Stitched Square STAX, Die-namics Layered Leaves, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Large Oval Punch, Hemp Cord, Pearl Basic Jewels, Glue Dots, Dimentionals

PPA264: A Sketch Challenge

My supervisor's daughter is turning 7 tomorrow.
Her birthday wish is to go to LEGOLAND with her family, so I've made this LEGO block card for her. Happy birthday, my little friend!

The foundation for my card design is from this week’s PPA Sketch Challenge.

I made a coordinating envelope too.
Stamp: Six-sided Sampler
Paper: Whisper White Thick Cardstock, Pacific Point, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay
Ink: VersaMark
Accessories: Die-namics Arrow Greetings, 1" Square Punch, Owl Builder Punch (little circles), 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Embossing Powder (white), Envelope Punch Board

PP258: A Clean and Simple Challenge

The theme of the Paper Players' challenge this week is "the Beach".

A friend of mine asked me to make a birthday card for her husband, and he loves surfing. So I made this:

Naturals White cardstock is perfect for sandy beach.
I sponged the edge of the waves with white ink, and the sky with soft sky.

Stamp: On Your Birthday
Paper: Naturals White, Whisper White, Island Indigo, Soft Sky
Ink: Island Indigo, Soft Sky, Craft Whisper White
Accessories: Die-namics Stitched Snow Drifts, Die-namics Making Waves, Dimentionals, Sponges

PPA263: A Color Challenge

I was thinking about a friend of mine who lives on the East Coast when I made this card. Every time we talk via Skype, she inspires me. I'm grateful for having such a great friend.

I used the three colors from this week's PPA challenge:

I also tried the learnings (repetition effect) from a My Favorite Things' Summer School Session.

She loves simple & clean designs (and so do I), so I hope she likes this card!

Stamp: Perfect Words
Paper: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Die-namics Chevron Stripes, Sequins (clear)

PP257: A Color Challenge

I was really in the mood for papercrafting this weekend, so I took on a new challenge. This is my first submission to the Paper Players.
This week's challenge is a color challenge.

I've never thought of this color combination when making cards, but now I know it's a beautiful combo!
Here's my card:
I was planning to use the card as a summer greeting card, so I made Bermuda Bay the focal point.

I raised the white front so that the curvy groove would give movement to the card.

Stamp: Fabulous Phrases
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Blossom Party Dies, Bird Builder Punch, Die-namics Stitched Snow Drifts, Enamel Dot (white), Dimentionals

Ink: Lost Lagoon
Accessories: Cross-Stitch Square STAX die (mft), Owl Builder punch, Envelope Punch Board, Dimentionals

PPA262: A Color Challenge

I enjoyed playing along with the PPA's color challenge this weekend.

I wanted to use the lightest color, Pool Party, as background, so I stamped flower patterns (Something Lacy) with it.

I used Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe as accents.

The big flower and the sentiment are raised.

Stamp: Something Lacy
Paper: Whisper White, Whisper White Thick Cardstock, Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron
Ink: Pool Party, Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron
Accessories: Oval Collection Framelits, Greetings Thinlits Dies, Dimentionals
