Happy Mother's Day!

I'm posting a card I made a few weeks ago. I was away from home earlier this month, so I'm finally getting caught up with things including posting the cards I made.

My mother-in-law moved into our house last month and we really enjoy living with her.  I'm pretty quiet at home, so her cheerful laughter brightens up our house.

I made a card for her for Mother's Day.

I stenciled the sun rays and die-cut the sun and MOM letters. The sun and the last letter, M, were popped up with foam tape.
I wanted to make the sentiment special, so I made it using a computer and printed it on the front panel.

I'm glad that she liked the card. 😊

Thanks for visiting me today!

CAS Watercolour May Challenge - wish you the most beautiful day

I didn't want to miss one of my favorite challenges, CAS Watercolour, this month, so I made a quick card this weekend.
Loll (Stamping with Loll) is hosting the challenge and she chose "Rainbow".

Just looking at the cards by the Guest Designer (Hannelie) and the Design Team is so inspiring and fun! And the cards in the gallery are full of colors and gorgeous.

Here's my Brusho flowers:

I sprinkled 7 colors of Brusho over a piece of watercolor paper and spritzed it with some water. I die-cut the piece and pasted it on the card base. The sentiment was stamped with black pigment ink. It was so easy to make and I liked the result. 😊

Thanks for dropping by!

CAS Mix Up May Challenge - happy birthday

Another fun challenge this month at CAS Mix Up. The May challenge is using Gelatos or Crayons.

I bought some Distress Crayons a while ago, but I haven't had a chance to use them. So I was very excited to find out that Bonnie chose this challenge and that she is hosting it. This is a great opportunity to try out the crayons.

I scribbled Distress Crayons (all 6 colors from Set 1 + Seedless Preserves) on a piece of mixed media paper, spritzed it with some water, and rubbed it to blend it with my finger. I die-cut a floral image from it.

And here's what I made with the die-cut.

I pasted a part of the die-cut on the top and bottom corners of the panel and heat-embossed the sentiment in gold.

I've learned a lot from the video tutorials (the links are provided on the challenge page) and the inspiring cards the Design Team and the Guest Designer (Jenny) made.

*editted on 5/21: Thank you for your suggestion, Loll! I'll share this card at CAS Watercolour too.

Thanks for visiting me today!

CAS Christmas Card May Challenge - let it snow

Today's card is a reminder for the CAS Christmas Card Challenge.
This month's challenge is Snowman and it's hosted by Susan (Cardmaker's Garret). Barb (Barb's Studio Creations) is joining us as Guest Designer.

Here's what I made:

I stamped the snowman's smiley face and part of the sentiment on the front panel and added the layered die-cut word, snow, to complete the sentiment.
I masked the snowman's face and the sentiment, and stenciled the falling snow with Glimmer Paste. I layered the panel on the slightly larger patterned paper.

Come and see what the Design Team and Barb created, and join us in the gallery! You have until the 24th to play along.

CAS Christmas Card May Challenge - merry christmas

Susan (Cardmaker's Garret) is hosting the challenge this month and the theme is Snowman.
You're going to be inspired by all the lovely Snowman cards by our Design Team and a very talented Guest Designer, Barb (Barb's Studio Creations).
Be sure to check out their beauties!

My snowman is a snow bear! Isn't he cute?

The card didn't have much of a fun feeling with only the window and the snowman at first, so I drew a smiley mouth and gave him snowballs to juggle.

Here's how I made the card:
The sky was sponged with Altenew inks. The window was die cut and popped up on the sky background. The snowman and the sentiment were stamped with black pigment ink and clear heat-embossed. I watercolored his muffler and a little of the shading with Zig markers. The white snowflakes were heat-embossed in the sky and on a piece of velum. I fussy-cut the vellum and added it to the snowman's hands.

You have until the 24th to play along. I'm looking forward to see YOUR snowman card in the gallery!
