CAS Christmas Card April Challenge - holiday cheer

It's time for a reminder that we are already half way through the CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Ornament, hosted by Bonnie. 

Here's what I made today:

I tried untraditional colors for the baubles. I stamped with pigment ink and clear heat-embossed the images to give a shiny look to the baubles. The little patterns and the sentiment were heat-embossed with gold. I drew strings with my gold metallic pen. 

The front panel was directly adhered to the card base, so it's a mail-friendly card. 😊

CAS Mix Up April Challenge - so sorry

It's already mid-month and this is a reminder of the CAS Mix UP April Challenge, a fun Rubber Band challenge, hosted by Julia!

 

 

Here's my card:

This time I used Distress Oxide Ink for this technique. 
First, I sponged and blended a few inks to make the background. Next, I inked up the thin and thick rubber bands, wrapped them around my brayer, and rolled it over the background. Then I lightly sponged over the background again with Broken China to soften the rubber band lines.
The front panel was die-cut and the sentiment was stamped with Iced Spruce.

I liked that the background turned out to be ethereal and appropriate for the occasion.

I used Rubber Band Technique + Stamping + Die-cutting for the card.

CAS Watercolour Card April Challenge - happy day to you

The CAS Watercolour April Challenge is "Bird", hosted by Bonnie.

I was born and brought up in a concrete jungle, and I'm not very familiar with nature.... I knew it would be a disaster if I painted a bird for the challenge.
So here's how I escaped from actually painting a bird and enjoyed playing along with the challenge. 😉

I sprinkled Brusho (Cobalt Blue) on watercolor paper, spritzed water over it, and die-cut the bird from it. The front panel looked a little empty even after adding the heat-embossed sentiment and the stitched frame, so I added some stenciling with Distress Oxide Ink. Lastly I popped up the bird with foam tape.

I love the Brusho' vibrant color and uneven texture.
