CAS Watercolour August Challenge - just saying hello

Marcia is hosting her first challenge at CAS Watercolour this month and she chose "Sunflower" as the theme. Bright and bold sunflowers are THE summer flowers, aren't they?

Here's my sunflower card:

I heat-embossed the sunflower in dark brown, and colored it with Brushos. Then cut it into 4 pieces and pasted them on a piece of white square cardstock. The notebook page was die cut and the sentiment was heat-embossed in the same color as the sunflower. I added a brass pin to the flower panel so that it looks like a summer memory pinup photo.

Thanks for visiting me today!

CAS Mix Up August Challenge - hello

I've been interested in the Stencil Monoprint technique but never tried it.
There's no excuse anymore because the CAS Mix Up August Challenge is Stencil Monoprint! 😊 I'm so excited to get to try this technique with the tutorial videos and wonderful sample cards provided in the challenge site! Thanks so much, Nancy, for hosting another fun challenge this month!

And here's my card:

Using Stencil Monoprint, Die-cutting, and Stamping

I followed Lee-Anne Cross' instructions shown in her video, and made the background with Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass and Pumice Stone). I die-cut the background to make a front panel, and also die-cut the dark brown cardstock a little bigger than the front panel to make the trim.
The cornflowers were die cut. Two dark brown ones for the shadows and dimension, and one white one for the top.
I stamped the sentiment with Pumice Stone.

I liked the summery feelings of the card.

The challenge has just started and is open until August 24. Hoping to see your Stencil Monoprint card in the gallery.

Thanks for visiting me today!

Stamp: Dahalia Turnabout Stamp Set (Concord & 9th)

Accessories:
Halftone Stencil (Altenew), Dies (Cornflowers - Alexandra Renke, Die-namics Elegant Rectangles STAX - My Favorite Things), Stick-it Adhesive Sheet

CAS Christmas Card August Challenge - merry christmas

It's the 3rd of the month and time for our CAS Christmas Card Challenge.
This month I'm thrilled to host the challenge for the first time and we have some great news:
First, a wonderful Guest Designer, Barb (Barb's Studio Creations), is back! She was our very first Guest Designer in May, and we're so happy to have her join us again.
Second, we have two new talented Designers joining us on our team starting this month! Colleen Foelker (One Smile Lifts a Spirit) and Linda Snodgrass (Lin's Craft Corner). We're so excited to have them!

So, I chose Tree as a theme for this month. Trees are one of the necessities in Christmas cards, aren't they?

Here's what I made:

First, I die-cut the dotted white front panel. Then I punched out 2 trees from silver foil paper, heat-embossed tinsel on them, and placed them so that they look like the letter M.
Next, I die-cut the sentiment, Merry, from silver foil paper, cut off the first letter (M), and pasted it next to the trees. Finally, I heat-embossed the sentiment, CHRISTMAS, in silver.

Please check out our challenge site to find the wonderful inspirational cards our Designers and Barb have created. I hope to see your tree card in the gallery!
