CAS Mix Up Challenge - adventure begins

I finally received the alcohol inks I ordered online last week, so I wanted to make one more card using the new inks before the CAS Mix Up Challenge link up closes.
And here's my card:

I applied a few colors of alcohol inks to the Ink Applicator Tool, and stamped it on the acetate sheet. Then I added a few drops of Blending Solution to the tool, and stamped over the background to blend the inks. Finally, I stamped the tree image and the sentiment with Archival Black Ink on the back of the sheet, and adhered the sheet to the card base.

Part of the fun of playing with alcohol inks is that you don't exactly know what results you'll get. I've just scratched the surface of this technique, so I'm sure I'll experiment with it more in the future. The alcohol inks are a great addition to my stash. 😊
Thank you so much, Nancy, for hosting the challenge this month, and introducing me to another fun medium! And thank you, Trina and the Design Team, for the inspiration!

  1. I am so pleased Hideko that you finally received your alcohol inks (kit) and that you had time to make one more card for our challenge:-) Your sponging on your AI's onto your acetate sheet and then stamping turned out really well. I tend to use Stazon instead of Archival ink to stamp onto acetate to prevent smearing. Your stamping turned out perfectly. You must have been very patient and made sure your alcohol was dry and your stamped images were completely dry before touching your main image...good for you!

Thank you again for playing in our CAS Mix Up Challenge my friend. I can't wait to see more of your beauties..after our challenge ends. Hugs...

    1. Thank you so much for your sweet comments and useful advice, Nancy! I had a few days to think how I can use the AI background, so it was dry. But I'll use Stazon for stamping for future. You don't always have time to wait for backgrounds to completely dry! I'm already looking forward to the September challenge, my friend! :-) Hugs...

  2. Beautiful alcohol ink background Hideko. Love the mix of colours and your beautiful silhouette of trees. I actually use Archival Black ink with alcohol inks and find it works well for me. It's a permanent ink, similar to Stazon. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx

    1. Thanks so much for your kind comments, as always, Loll! Now I have both Archival Black Ink and Stazon Ink, so I'll try both and see.
Last time, I forgot to use a stamp for my card, so this time I made sure to use a stamp, and I realized just now that I forgot to use something else (+ your choice)! Sigh... and sorry... Hideko xx
