CAS Mix Up April Challenge - happy birthday

I was so honored and happy to be selected as Top Pick in January and now to be a Guest Designer at CAS Mix Up Challenge this month!

The April Challenge is Rubber Band Technique. Julia Aston is hosting this fun challenge. Check out the challenge blog and find great inspiration!

Here's my card:

I used Rubber Band Technique + Stamping + Heat-embossing + Die-cutting.

The background was done with the rubber band embossing technique - I wrapped rubber bands around a brayer, inked it up with VersaMark, rolled it a few times over the white cardstock, covered everything with embossing powder, and heat-set it.

The Koi was die-cut from a piece of gold vellum. I love the airy feel of the Koi. I stamped the sentiment, and embellished with the sequins. I hope you can see the shimmer of the vellum from this angle.

The challenge is open until April 24th. I hope to see you in the gallery!

Stamp: Birthday Builder (Altenew)
Paper: Whisper White (Stampin' Up!),
Gold Vellum (Grafix Arts)

VersaMark, Versafine (Onyx Black - Tsukineko)
Accessories: Dies (Koi Fish - Hero Arts),
Embossing Powder (Silver Pearl - Wow!), Sequins (Wisteria Blossoms Mix - Pretty Pink Posh), Rubber Bands, Brayer (Speedball)
