CAS Christmas March Challenge - joyful wishes

CAS Christmas Challenge is celebrating its first anniversary this month! Congratulations, Bonnie, Loll, and Designers! Thanks to this challenge, I had a lot of fun making Christmas cards throughout the year and I didn't have to rush in November to make them last year.

Susan Bridgman is hosting the March challenge and she chose Deer as the theme.

Here's my card:

[How I made the card}
1. Die-cut the big deer from a piece of acetate to make a stencil and stenciled the deer on a green piece of cardstock. Sprayed the shimmer spritz lightly over it.
2. Die-cut the fawns and the sentiment from a piece of white cardstock.
3. Die-cut an oval window from a piece of woodgrain cardstock.
4. Glued the fawns and the sequins onto the stenciled green panel.
5. Glued the die-cut sentiment on the front panel and adhered the front panel to the green panel.
6. Attached the window panel to the card base.

Let's join the celebration!

  7. The story I see is a special gift being presented to a Father on Christmas... and your stenciled Buck was a particularly beautiful design idea. Love this, Hideko, and that gorgeous white wood grain card stock! xx

  9. Beautiful card and design, Hideko. The rich dark green is striking and unexpected, yet so perfect for your trio of deer. Great job mixing it up by stencilling. Love the woodgrain card base. I need to get me some of that. 😉 xx

  10. How lovely to have the deer and background in the unexpected green Hideko! A great woodsy color - so pretty with the 3 sweet stenciled and die cut deer! Your line sentiment is so delicate and is perfect running along the bottom of the oval - great texture added with the woodgrain embossing! xx

  12. I love that you DIY'd your own deer stencil! That alone would have made a great CAS card but I love the addition of the two fawns, too.
