CAS Mix Up June Challenge - happy birthday

Hi everyone,

It's time for the mid-month reminder at CAS Mix Up!
Whatever you do in ombre, it will be beautiful. I've never seen bad ombre. Have you?  Thanks, Mac, for choosing a success guaranteed challenge! 😉

Here's my felt ombre card:

Using Ombre Technique, Die-cutting, Heat-embossing, and Stamping

[How I made the card]
1. Die-cut the front panel.
2. Die-cut the flowers and the leaves from felt.
3. Gold heat-embossed the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock, and die-cut the strip.
4. Glued the flowers and the leaves onto the front panel and popped up the sentiment strip with foam tape.
5. Adhered the front panel to the card base.

You have until June 24th to link up your card here. Join us for this fun challenge!

CAS Mix Up June Challenge - love & thanks

Hi everyone,

Are you ready for another new challenge? This month's CAS Mix Up is hosted by our very talented Designer, Mac, and she chose Ombre as the challenge.
We have a wonderful Guest Designer, Bobby (bits & pieces).

Here's what I made:

Using Ombre Technique, Stenciling, Sponging, Heat-embossing, and Stamping

[How I made the card]
1. Stenciled the oats image using texture paste.
2. After the paste completely dried, sponged Distress Oxide Inks over the paste (with the stencil) and made an ombre look.
3. Gold heat-embossed the sentiment on a black card strip and layered it on the burlap ribbon.
4. Trimmed the front panel just a little and layered it on the card base.
5. Adhered the sentiment strip to the front panel.

It's funny that most of the time it took me to make this card was not in making the ombre effect, but in deciding how to add the sentiment. I wanted a black sentiment strip for the card to add a little pizzazz. But it was too striking for the soft ombre nature-theme image. So I layered the burlap ribbon under the strip to give a little organic feel.

Check out the cards made by our Designers and Bobby for more inspiration and join the fun! The challenge is open until June 24th.
