CAS Mix Up February Challenge - happy birthday

Hello everyone,

It's time for the mid-month reminder at CAS Mix Up

I used sentiment dies to make a stencil earlier this month, so I used image dies for today's card for a change.

Here's my card:

Using Stencil from Die-cuts, Die-cutting, Heat-embossing, and Stamping

[How I made the card]
1. Die-cut a piece of acetate with snowflake dies.
2. Stenciled the snowflakes with distress inks.
3. Die-cut a frame from the stenciled piece. Die-cut blue cardstock with the same frame die 3 times and layered the pieces for dimension.
4. Heat-embossed the sentiment.
5. Glued everything on to the card base and added a tiny gem to the center of a few of the snowflakes.

The "regular" layered die-cut snowflakes are very pretty, but I think the stenciled ones have a more warm and cozy feeling. Now that I've gotten more out of this die set, I like it even more! 😉

You have until February 24th to link up your card here. Join us for this fun challenge!

CAS Mix Up February Challenge - hugs

Welcome to our new challenge at CAS Mix Up!

Our very talented Designer, Joanna, is hosting the challenge this month, and her theme is Stencil from Die-cuts. Our wonderful guest designer is Ina (Little Bits of Craft).

Here's my card:

Using Stencil made from die-cut, Smooshing, Die-cutting, Heat-embossing,
and Stamping

[How I made this card]
1. Die-cut a piece of acetate with a sentiment die.

2. Stenciled the sentiment with embossing paste over a piece of Brusho smooshed background.
3. Die-cut the stenciled piece with a Hemstiched frame die.
4. White heat-embossed the sentiment on a strip of dark brown cardstock and popped it up on another strip with fish tails so that it looked like a gift ribbon. Glued the ribbon onto the top left corner of the stenciled panel.
5. Glued the panel on to the white card base.

Now I see dies differently from before. I'll definitely think about the possibilities of using a stencil when I buy a new die. 😊

You have until February 24th to link up your card here. Looking forward to seeing your card in the gallery!
