Hi everyone,
Joanna, CAS Mix Up Designer, is challenging us with Embossing with Dies this month. It's always fun to stretch your supplies, isn't it?
Here's my card:
[How I made the card]
1. Made impressions of the flowers using dies and embossing mat.
2. The impressions looked very subtle, so I colored the flowers with light blue ink (Tumbled Glass) by masking the flowers with die-cut negatives.
3. Die cut flowers and colored with Distress Oxide Inks, and placed them over the embossed flowers. I stacked the gray die-cut flowers three times to add some dimension.
4. Die-cut the thin frame and glued it on the card base.
5. Stamped the sentiment.
I liked the subtle dimensional interest created by the embossed marks and the stacked die-cuts.
Thank you for visiting me today!

Beautiful Hideko, love the delicate flowers and your wonderful die cut embossing images also great colour combo :)
ReplyDeleteI love the soft, heathery colors of these flowers and the depth you created with the embossing, single die cuts and stacked die cuts! The thin frame draws the eye right into those pretty flowers! Great creation, my friend!
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful elegant die cut flowers, Hideko. I love your soft watercolor choices and your die embossed background for added texture. Your narrow die cut frame around your tucked under flower stems was a wonderful design for bringing all your CAS elements together. TFS your beauty and joining us at CAS Mix Up, my friend. Love and Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful and elegant card Hideko! The dry embossed flowers are so pretty with a bit of colour. And I love the combination of colours you've used for the die-cuts ... so serene! xx
ReplyDeleteCombining the technique with actual die cuts is so pretty, Hideko. These are my favorite soft [greyed-down] shades of these colors! Of course framing your little group of blooms with that skinny little frame is a nice touch, too! So very lovely, my friend...

ReplyDeleteWhat a great play with this die. I love the combo of the die embossing and the same die cuts. The colours are soothing and the dimension is such a beautiful idea. Thank you so much dear Hideko for playing along and sharing this beauty on CAS Mix Up! xx
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Hideko. Love the colours and soft inking. The die embossed background is subtle, yet so effective in adding dimension.
ReplyDeleteSo unique and the design is fabulous Hideko x. Great dimension, love the colour combination and what a stunning technique x.
ReplyDeleteOh it's absolutely gorgeous! Those dies are timeless aren't they - I love how you embossed them into the card and then added the beautiful coloured ones on top. Stunning and so elegant
