CAS Mix Up February Challenge - just a note

Hi everyone,

My dear friend, Nancy, is hosting a challenge at CAS Mix Up Challenge this month.

She chose Stencil Heat Embossing as the theme.

Here's my card:

[How I made the card]

1. Die-cut a square frame on the front card base.

2. Masked outside of the square frame and stamped the stone wall image with Distress Ink.

3. Die-cut a piece of acetate sheet with leaf dies and made a stencil.

4. Put the leaf stencil over the stone image, added VersaMark to the card front through the stencil, and heat-embossed with Distress Embossing Glaze.

5. Spattered gold Perfect Pearl inside the frame.

6. Made a sentiment strip by sponging white card stock with Distress Oxide Ink, and foiled the sentiment on the strip using gold foil.

7. Cut two sentiment strips, glued them onto the back of the foiled sentiment strip for dimension, and glued the entire piece onto the card front.

I love how the stamped stone image shows through the Distress Embossing Glaze.

Sorry I was not able to get any shine from the Glaze or the Perfect Pearl in my photos.

Let's go and look at the challenge blog to see the Design Team's and the other participants' cards!

  9. You 'had me' at hemstitch, Hideko - but what you've done inside that darling box is really amazing! Here you are, tempting me with two things I don't have: foiling, and glazes! I am just as happy to have you showing me how beautifully these two things can come together! LOve your hand-made stenciled leaves step just outside their pretty frame! xx

  10. So beautiful and unique! Love the design, especially the hemstitch... enabler alert. 😆 Looks like an art piece that needs to be framed! Interesting that the glaze allows what’s underneath to be seen, I have yet to try it... another enabler alert. 🙈
