Hi everyone,
When I saw the CAS Mix Up Challenge this month, I thought it would be a great opportunity to use the stencils I've wanted to use for almost a year.
Loll chose Pastes/Gels for the stencil challenge.
Here's my card:
[How I made the card]
1. Masked a few of the sea creatures I didn't want to color, and colored the rest of them using the stencil and Distress Inks. I blended inks with blending blushes.
2. Placed the bubble stencil over the stenciled sea creatures, and added some clear glimmer paste through the stencil with a palette knife.
3. Die-cut the frame from the stenciled piece.
4. Die-cut another thin frame from a piece of white card stock and glued it to the back of the original thin frame for dimension.
5. Put the die-cut pieces (the outer frame, the thin frame, and the main panel) back into their original positions and glued them onto the card base.
6. Glimmer foiled the sentiment on a piece of black cardstock, die-cut it, and adhered it to the front panel.
7. Glued the entire front panel onto the card base.
I used both stencils partially by masking unnecessary areas.
Look at the different shapes and sizes of the water bubbles. I love Alexandra Renke's unique designs!
Since these stencils were Never Before Used Schtuff, I'm entering the card in NBUS Challenge #39 too.
Thanks for stopping by!

What wonderful bubbles that can double as snow fall in the Winter, Hideko! Your fish are delightful and I LOVE the way you've framed it all! I'm so glad you joined us at CAS Mix Up!
ReplyDeleteLove your blended colors for your stenciled sea life, Hideko. Your stenciled bubbles using the glimmer paste were perfect for your seascape scene, Hideko. Wonderful CAS card design and framing too. Thank You for sharing and joining us at CAS Mix Up Paste/Gels Challenge. Love and Hugs...Nancy
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful Hideko and the wonderful variation of tone from the lighter to the darker blue really gives your underwater creatures life, and the added bubbles using clear glimmer paste work brilliantly, also love how you have added the frame from the stencilled layer and added a piece underneath to give it dimension...a super foiled sentiment too. Thank you so much for joining in at the NBUS Challenge this month. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Hideko, love the ombre shades of blue for all your sea creatures. The stenciling over with the gel paste gives so much dimension. - love both of these stencils :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent stencilist you are, Hideko. I know, it's a made-up word, but it fits you! I'm wowed by how you used portions of both stencils and you did a brilliant job of blending and embossing and framing! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteIf ever I were brave enough, I'd love to see the ocean from below - but I'd dive right into your ocean, Hideko! Gorgeous bubbles, fabulous blending - and you even managed to get your favorite color in at the end - purple suits that whale's tail!

LOVE this card. Great design Hideko. Gorgeous mix of colours for your stenciled sea creatures ... and love the texture and depth from your paste "bubbles". xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card, love those little sea creatures and the sparkly bubbles. Very good idea to use the frame and to raise it so the image continues onto it. Such a great effect. So lovely to see you in the mix up gallery this month xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sea creatures, great bubbles, lovely colours - what a fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, Hideko! Love the colours (no surprise) and your flawless ink blending. Adding the bubbles with clear glimmer paste completed the scene beautifully. Love this!
