CAS Mix Up May Challenge - happy birthday

It's the 1st and time for another fun challenge!
The CAS Mix Up May Challenge is Baby Wipe hosted by our very talented Designer, Bonnie. Our wonderful Guest Designer for this month is Berry (Berry's Bramble).
There are very useful tutorial video links provided on the challenge site, so please check out to see what you can do with baby wipes for your cards!

Here's what I made using my baby wipe stamp pad.

Using Baby Wipe Technique, Heat-embossing, and Stamping

[How I made the card]
1. Dropped 4 colors of inks on folded baby wipes and made a stamp pad.
2. Stamped the leaf image on a piece of white card panel.
3. Gold heat-embossed the sentiment.
4. Added the sequins to the front panel.
5. Trimmed both sides of the panel so that the panel would be slightly smaller than the card base. (*1)
6. Layered the panel over a piece of white cardstock in the same size to add a slight dimension. (*2)
7. Adhered the front panel to the card base.

*1: I thought I needed a very simple frame and this would be one of the simplest frames.
*2: Foam tape or craft foam was a little bit too thick for the design, and layering another piece of card stock was just enough to show the levels.


I like how the ink blended. The baby wipe ink pad was juicy enough to stamp a few more times, so I did it for future cards. 👍

CAS Mix Up April Challenge - love

It's time for more inspiration from the CAS Mix UP Design Team. Our challenge for this month is Layered Stamping with Heat Embossing.

I changed gears from white card base to dark color card base to take  advantage of the opaque layering of heat embossing.

Here's my card:

Using Layered Stamping with Heat Embossing, Die-cutting, and Stamping

[How I made the card]
1. Die-cut a rectangle window and used the negative portion as a mask for heat-embossing the window with clear sparkle embossing glitter (*1).
2. Heat-embossed the rose, layering with the white, the pink, and the red.
3. Gold heat-embossed the leaves on a piece of black cardstock and die-cut it. Glued it below the flower.
4. Heat-embossed the sentiment in gold.
5. Scored the frame.

*1: It's interesting to see that the clear sparkling glitter embossing powder turned green on the black card base.

CAS Mix Up April Challenge - so happy

Welcome to our new challenge at CAS Mix Up!

Our talented Designer, Susan Joyce, is hosting the challenge this month and her theme is Layered Stamping with Heat Embossing. Our wonderful guest designer is Bozena (ArtCardBox).

If you're not familiar with layered stamping with heat-embossing, please check out the tutorial videos provided on the challenge site.

Here's my card:

Using Layered Stamping with Heat Embossing, Die-cutting, and Stamping

[How I made the card]
1. Heat-embossed the layered butterfly stamps in the following order: first, the wing color; next, the wing pattern; and finally, the black outline. (*1)
2. Lightly stenciled the concentric circles with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink.
3. Heat-embossed the sentiment with glitter black embossing powder.
4. Die-cut the front panel and popped it up with craft foam.

*1. It's hard to see in the picture, but the outlines are heat-embossed in glitter black embossing powder (the same as the sentiment).


I like the shine of layered heat-embossing!
