CAS Mix Up September Challenge - happy birthday

It's September but it's still very hot and dry in the daytime here in LA.  

Bonnie is hosting the CAS Mix Up Challenge this month, and the theme is one of her favorite techniques, "Ink Stamps with Markers".

And here's my card:

Using stamps inked with Zig Real Brush Markers, stamping, sponging, 

and die cutting

I inked the stamps with Zig brush markers and stamped the images several times while changing colors. Misti is such a useful tool to do this technique!
I masked the stamped roses and leaves and sponged the background lightly with distress inks.
The I die cut the panel and the matte, and put them together.
The card base is actually light gray, and I wanted to add a subtle texture to it, so I put a piece of white parchment paper over the card base. The light gray shows through slightly and I love the stone look of it.
The stamped panel and the die-cut sentiment were adhered to the parchment cover.

CAS Christmas Card September Challenge - peace on earth

It's already September, only a few months left this year. Time flies, doesn't it?
This month's CAS Christmas Card Challenge is hosted by our talented Designer, Nance. We have a wonderful Guest Designer, Birgit.

Nance chose Wreath as the challenge. Isn't is fun just to think of holiday wreaths in different colors and textures?

I went with this simple one as my first wreath card.

I die-cut the white wreath outline twice and layered them, and inlaid the green die-cuts (leaves). I die-cut the dove and the sentiment and stamped a part of the sentiment in black. I layered two die-cut sentiments. Everything was glued on the linen textured card base.

Cornflowers with Tissue Paper background

I made a card using a cornflower die with tissue paper background from my stash.

I learned the tissue paper technique at CAS Mix Up Challenge last year.
Loll made a great tutorial video, and I followed her instructions.

Here's my card:

I used Distress Inks to color my tissue paper and misted a mixture of Perfect Pearl and water over the tissue.
The cornflowers and the oval window were die cut.

I sponged a strip of white cardstock with the same distress inks I used for the tissue paper, and die-cut the birthday sentiment from it. I glued the sentiment on a piece of vellum and attached the vellum strip to the card front.
