CAS Christmas Card August Challenge - merry christmas

Today's card is a reminder for the CAS Christmas August Challenge.
There are only a few months to prepare for holiday cards. The sooner you start, the more relaxing your holiday season will be (speaking to myself...).

This month's theme is Tree, and I made a card with a little different texture from usual.

Yes, I cross-stitched a Christmas tree. I used one of the design patterns on the My Favorite Things website.
The tag die-cut already has holes in it, so it's so easy to cross-stitch. I layered a gold matte underneath, stamped the sentiment in red, and added a gold cord.
The tag was popped up on the front panel with foam tape. I used the cross-stitch frame die for the front panel to echo the actual stitching.

It takes more time to cross-stitch than to stamp, but it was so much fun and relaxing that I'll probably do this again sometime soon.

I hope you'll check out the challenge blog to see the cards made by our wonderful Guest Designer, Barb, and our talented Designers. Check out also the gallery full of gorgeous and creative cards.
Come and play along with us - you have until August 24th to get your card linked up!
