Joyeux Noel

Hi everyone,

I was inspired by the wonderful cards on the Group of Seven Cardmakers blog to create a card using the ink-blending-with-water-lifting technique.

I blended 3 Distress Oxide Inks (Twisted Citron, Rustic Wilderness, Chipped Sapphire) and let it dry overnight, following the helpful tips from the GO7 cardmakers. I heat-embossed the image, and ink-lifted the trees. The sentiment was hot foiled on a piece of acetate, and glued onto the front panel. To add a bit of texture to the background, I debossed the diamonds pattern on the white panel.

And just like that, another Christmas card is done! ðŸ˜Š

Thanks for visiting me today!

Stamp: Clean Line Christmas (Simon Says Stamp)
Ink: Distress Oxide (Twisted Citron, Rustic Wilderness, Chipped Sapphire - Ranger), VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Paper: Basic White (Stampin' Up!), Mixed Media Paper (White 140 lb. Strathmore)
Others: Embossing Powder (Detail White - Gina K), Glimmer Hot Foil Plate (Mini Christmas Sentitment Strips - Spellbinders), Glimmer Hot Foil (White - Spellbinders), Clear Acetate Sheets (Simon Says Stamp), Dies (Stitched Diamonds Coverplate - Pinkfresh Studio, Nested Frame Cuts Rectangle - Hero Arts), Connect Glue (Gina K)

  6. Hideko, you have had great success lifting your ink from your sweet little trio of Christmas trees! I love that you ended the blending of greens with the darkest blue. I still haven't tried foiling on acetate - foiling on paper continues to frustrate me!
Another gorgeous Christmas card for your stash!
