I made 2 cards using the same design.
[Card 1]
[Card 2]
The berries and the leaves were gold heat-embossed and colored with Zig markers. I partially die-cut the images using the matching die, leaving the horizontal strip as a connector.
The sentiment was gold heat-embossed. The letter "C" of Card 2 somehow didn't get heat-embossed and was missing (and I didn't notice that until later), so I added a die-cut "C" to fix the problem. The gold strip was layered under the die-cut piece. I'm happy about how it came out.
I used woodgrain cardstock for the Card 1 card base, and I made a frame impression on the card base for Card 2.
The challenge is open until November 24th.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Beautiful design that looks amazing in both colour schemes, Hideko! Love the texture from the wood grain background on your first card. The red berries and green leaves just pop off the black. Great contrast. Your second card is a fresh design with all that glorious white space. Great save on the "C". :) xx
ReplyDeleteThey are both wonderful!! I love the dry embossing and your berries are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful Christmas cards, Hideko. I love how your black woodgrain card base on your 1st card really makes your berries and leaves pop! Beautiful gold accents too. Your 2nd card is so elegant and such a wonderful clean and Simple design. TFS your save on the "C". Your sentiment is even more beautiful with your bolder gold heat embossed "C".
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your beauties, my friend. Hugs..Nancy
Oh Hideko! You cannot imagine how many times I've tried to buy that bark wood grain paper... never in stock - it will be that way forever after people see this card! Those berries? gorgeous, on any shade of fabulous you choose! xx
ReplyDelete=]
Hideko, two beautiful cards. The woodgrain bark looks amazing as the backdrop to your first card and love your embossed frame for those pretty berries.
ReplyDeleteBoth are great but I lean a bit to the white card base. Great save on it by die cutting the letter "C". Love the layout with the gold strips bordering the sentiment strip. And beautifully coloured berries!
ReplyDeleteWhen I opened this up and saw these pretty berries on the black I wondered why I hadn't thought to do that! The contrast with the black is so striking. Then I saw the berries on the white with the embossing behind them and my jaw dropped even further! Fantastic job of partial die cutting. That's something I've never mastered. Two GORGEOUS cards, my friend. Makes me want to pull out this set!
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards, Hideko. I love the layouts and how you used the berries.
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful cards, Hideko! Fabulous partial die cutting and designs. Your beautifully watercoloured berries really pop against the dark brown on the first one. Your second is simply elegant and stylish. Amazing! xx
